🤍 ~We all need self-care, it is so crucial in our daily lives. But, what we truly need is daily Biblical self-care. We must spend time with Jesus every day to grow closer to Him and to renew our spirit. So I want to share a simple devotional to help you begin. Try it, you will love it! 🙌
🤍 ~This is just a simple 7-day devotional to try for yourself. I dont feel like we share this kind of self-care enough.
🤍 ~This might be very short but it is very simple and very life-changing! 🙌
🤍 ~Just try it, it can’t hurt anything! 🙌 With that being said, begin today, and just see how you feel within your heart and your spirit. 🙌
🙌 ~Day 1: God’s Gift of Rest
Scripture: “By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested…” (Genesis 2:2–3)
Reflection: God Himself rested to set an example. Rest is not laziness; it’s obedience and trust.
Practice: Choose one time this week to unplug from work and enjoy God’s creation.
Prayer: Lord, help me trust You enough to rest, knowing You hold all things together.
⸻
🤍 ~Day 2: Jesus Knew When to Pause
Scripture: “But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.” (Luke 5:16)
Reflection: Jesus, in the middle of ministry, made time for solitude with the Father. If He needed it, so do we.
Practice: Schedule 10 minutes today to sit in silence with God.
Prayer: Father, quiet my heart so I can hear You above the noise of life.
⸻
🤍 ~Day 3: Caring for Your Body
Scripture: “…your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit…” (1 Corinthians 6:19–20)
Reflection: Stewarding your body is a spiritual act of worship. Sleep, food, and movement all matter.
Practice: Take one small step today—go for a walk, drink more water, or go to bed earlier.
Prayer: Lord, help me honor You by caring for the body You’ve given me.
⸻
🤍 ~Day 4: Guarding Your Mind
Scripture: “…whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right…think about such things.” (Philippians 4:8)
Reflection: What we let into our minds shapes our peace and faith. Self-care includes guarding our thoughts.
Practice: Replace one negative input today (news, social media, gossip) with Scripture or worship.
Prayer: God, renew my mind with Your truth and protect me from anxious thoughts.
⸻
🤍 ~Day 5: Refreshing the Spirit
Scripture: “Remain in me, as I also remain in you.” (John 15:4)
Reflection: Your spirit is refreshed through connection with Jesus. Apart from Him, we run dry.
Practice: Read a psalm slowly today. Let it soak in rather than rushing through.
Prayer: Jesus, fill my spirit with Your presence and keep me rooted in You.
⸻
🤍 ~Day 6: Rest Restores Us to Serve
Scripture: “Then he lay down under the bush and fell asleep…All at once an angel touched him and said, ‘Get up and eat.’” (1 Kings 19:5)
Reflection: God restored Elijah with rest and nourishment before sending him back to his calling. Renewal equips us for service.
Practice: Do one thing today that refreshes you—something that helps you feel restored, not drained.
Prayer: Lord, restore my strength so I can love and serve from a place of fullness.
⸻
🤍 ~Day 7: True Rest in Jesus
Scripture: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)
Reflection: Self-care ultimately points us back to Christ. He is the source of true rest and peace.
Practice: End your week with worship—play a worship song, journal your gratitude, or take a quiet walk with Jesus.
Prayer: Jesus, I give You my burdens. Thank You for being my rest and my peace.
🤍🙌 ~many blessings…
