~Healing and Self-Care: Choosing Yourself Every Day…
🖤 ~Healing isn’t linear. Some days feel like breakthroughs… other days, it feels like you’re back at square one. But healing isn’t about perfection…it’s about choosing yourself, again and again, until it becomes second nature.
🖤 ~Self-care gets tossed around lightly. Real self-care is deeper. It’s setting boundaries, resting when your body screams for it, saying no when you need to, and showing up for yourself even when it’s so uncomfortable, that you might even cry.
🖤 ~What Healing Really Looks Like…
• Rest without guilt. Stop glorifying exhaustion. Healing often requires sleep, quiet, and slowing down.
• Letting go. This could mean old narratives, toxic habits, etc.
• Facing the hard stuff. Healing isn’t avoiding pain—it’s allowing yourself to process it in healthy ways. It’s allowing yourself to feel all the emotions.
• Reconnecting with joy. Play, laughter, creativity…these are medicines too.
🖤 ~Practical Self-Care That Heals…
1. Boundaries as protection. Say yes to what nourishes you and no to what drains you.
2. Daily check-ins. Ask: What do I need today? Sometimes it’s water. Sometimes it’s silence.
3. Movement without punishment. Walk, stretch, dance…move to feel good, not to earn rest.
4. Feed yourself well. Nourishment isn’t about restriction, it’s about energy and care.
🖤 ~A Reminder…
🖤 ~Healing is not selfish. Self-care is not indulgence. They’re both acts of survival, and over time, they become acts of thriving. When you take care of yourself, you show up stronger, clearer, and more open for the people and the world around you.
🖤 ~So today, start small. Drink water. Take a breath. Step outside. That’s self-care, and that’s healing in motion.
🖤 ~many blessings…~
